About the Author
For Pastors Only

After twenty-five years of ministry, including eight years as a missionary in Japan and Korea and then four years as President of Mount Vernon Bible College in Ohio, Harold faced the need to develop meaningful support for the college. That led him into the field of fundraising and gift planning in particular. He now provides instruction for believers and a coaching ministry for local churches.

Although many Christians are faithful in tithing and giving, most have never considered the issues of estate and gift planning. That is, how to manage not just annual income, but the assets acquired over a lifetime. Harold demonstrates how believers can become even better stewards by planning both their finances and giving.

Before retiring from employment, he served as Vice President for a regional healthcare foundation in San Diego. He also worked as a consultant for the San Diego Community Foundation and numerous other charities in San Diego county. He helped establish a denominational planned giving program, works with churches to establish local endowment funds, authored the book “Stress-Free Believers” and provides the 10-Talent Believer ministry (10TB.org) in local churches.

A winner of many Toastmaster awards, he has spoken across the country at national conferences and in hundreds of churches, ranging in size from 250 to over 8,000. Harold is also past president of Old Mission Rotary in San Diego and has served on numerous boards; including, the San Diego Blood Bank, the American Association of Individual Investors, and the National University Alumni Association.

Certified as a Fund Raising Executive in 1988 (CFRE), he has been a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Association of Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), and the National Committee on Planned Giving (NCPG).
